Mandals
Hyderabad district has 16 Mandals.

Subdivision is divided into mandals. Headed by Mandal Tassildar or also known as MRO (Mandal Revenue Officer). The MRO has the same powers and duties including the executive powers of the taluks of the erstwhile taluks.Mandal Revenue Officer heads the Mandal Revenue Office. The MRO provides an interface between the government and the people within its jurisdiction. He initiated welfare measures within his jurisdiction. The MRO is assisted by higher officials who are collecting information and conducting investigations. Deputy Tassildar / Superintendent, Mandal Revenue Inspector, Superintendent, Mandal Surveyor, Assistant Statistical Officer and other ministerial staff. The Deputy Tahsildar / Superintendent oversees the day-to-day functions of the MRO office and mainly deals with general administration. Most of the documents are designed by him. He oversees all the departments of the MRO office. (Mandal Revenue Inspector) helps the MRO to conduct MRI inquiries and inspections. He supervises the village secretaries. Inspects crop fields in Pahani. Sharas (field inspection details) in Pahani, collect land revenue, non-agricultural land assessment and other dues and keep a close watch on the villages under his jurisdiction to maintain justice and order.

At the State level, the District of Economics and Statistics maintains the data related to rainfall, crops and population by the Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO), who is under the overall control of the Chief Planning Officer. He conducts crop assessment tests. He will consider submitting details of crops. He prepares periodical reports on births and deaths and helps the MRO in conducting cattle census, population census and other surveys taken up by the Government from time to time. The MRO sends the above items to the District Collector. These are then sent to the Department of Finance, Statistics and Planning at the government level.

Mandal Surveyor of Survey Settlement and Land Records Department assists MRO in survey activities. A chain man assists the mandal surveyor in his duties.
